About Jermaine.

Jermaine Reed, Managing Partner of KGR Consultants, a former Kansas City, Missouri – City Councilmember, and member of the Board of Trustee for the Metropolitan Community College.

He is often termed a ‘collaborator’ or ‘cheerleader’ – he is a champion who encourages, mentors and helps others. His life skills have served him well during his eight years on the City Council, including four years as chair of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and two terms on the Board of Directors for the National League of Cities.

As City Councilman, Jermaine achieved an impressive list of major legislative accomplishments and shepherded multiple large-scale community developments. From expanding Kansas City’s airport and bringing grocery stores to low-income neighborhoods, to increasing the minimum wage and ‘banning- the-box’ on employment applications for felons, as well as leading community redevelopment efforts for the 18th & Vine Historic District, and building a new Regional Crime Lab and Police Division Station.

He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and an Executive Masters in Public Administration from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.  He resides in Kansas City, Missouri and lives in the midtown.  He enjoys traveling, live sporting events and concerts.
